¿Funcionarán los Dispositivos PCI de National Instruments en Ranuras PCI de 64-bit?

Problema:

Algunas PC ofrecen ranuras PCI de 64-bit, pero las tarjetas PCI de National Instruments están hechas para ranuras de 32-bit. ¿Son estas tarjetas de adquisición de datos (DAQ) de National Instruments compatibles con ranuras de 64-bit?

Solución:

El bus PCI tiene diferentes permutaciones. Puede tener ranuras de 32-bit o de 64-bit. Puede correr a 33MHz o 66 MHz. Puede alimentarse con 3.3 V o 5 V.

Hasta el 2006, la mayoría del hardware PCI de National Instruments es 32 bit-33 MHz-5V. National Instruments está trabajando actualmente en soportar más módulos. Las excepciones son:

Existen targetas GPIB que funcionan en 3.3 V y 5V: el PCI-8212 (combo GPIB y Ethernet), el PCI-GPIB/LP (PCI Low Profile), y la revisión K o superior de PCI-GPIB y PCI-GPIB+.
En High Speed Digitizers: el PCI-5102 trabaja con 32 bit-33MHz-3.3 V o 5 V.
En Dynamic Signal Analyzers: PCI-4472 trabaja con 32 bit-33MHz-3.3 V o 5 V

Nota: El bus PCI solo corre tan rápido como el dispositivo más lento lo permite, por lo que un bus capaz de correr a 66MHz, correra unicamente a 33MHz si una tarjeta de 33MHz esta instalada en el.
