解答: 因為Windows 2000或XP支援多種的硬體種類，因此預設是不允許你更動硬體資源的，但在Hardware Abstraction Layer (HAL)中你可以手動的設定資源，HAL預設在"Advanced Configuration and Power Interface" (ACPI)中阻止資源的分配，如果原始的PC正在使用，透過將HAL改成"Standard PC"可手動的分配資源，有時後改變HAL的設定必需在BIOS中手動的設定硬體資源配置。如果你無法在BIOS中設定，你可以接受重新安裝Windows，在Microsoft的網站中有說明在安裝Windows時可設定HAL
