What is the NI Multisim MCU Module, and is it included with NI Multisim?

Solution

The National Instruments Multisim MCU Module adds microcontroller unit cosimulation capabilities to NI Multisim, so you can include a microcontroller, programmed in assembly or C code, within your SPICE-modeled circuit.

The NI Multisim MCU Module works with Intel/Atmel 8051/8052 and Microchip PIC16F84A chips as well as a broad range of advanced peripherals such as external RAM and ROM, keypads, and graphical and alphanumeric LCDs. Execution control, breakpoints, register view, and memory address overwriting are only some of the integrated debugging features you can use for in-depth investigation of the developed source code.

In addition, you can use the Multisim MCU Module with any Multisim VI for a detailed system simulation, including the microcontroller and all connected analog and digital SPICE components. Support for the original instruction sets guarantees a smooth transition along the product development cycle and seamless integration with third-party tools.

The NI Multisim MCU Module is not included with NI Multisim license and is thus a paid add-on. It is however included in the NI Circuit Design Suite, along with NI Multisim and NI Ultiboard.
