Issue Details

I have upgraded my system to run a newer version of Windows and would like to use the same PXI remote controller. Can I use MXI-3 with Windows Vista or newer?

Solution

MXI-3 is not supported under Windows Vista or newer and will not work. Devices connected by MXI-3 will not be detected by Windows or show up in MAX. Instead a PCI Standard PCI-to-PCI bridge will appear in Device Manager as not working. The device status will state the following: 

This device cannot start. (Code 10)

If you must upgrade your system, you should either upgrade to a MXI-Express remote controller or use a compatible embedded controller.
