Issue Details

I have a quarter bridge gauge sensor that I want to measure using an NI 9237 DSUB variant. The NI 9237 comes with an NI 9923 Screw Terminal Block. I want to use an NI 9926/9944/9945 Quarter Bridge Completion Accessory but I can't find a wiring solution.

Solution

You will not be able to use the NI 9926/9944/9945 directly with the NI 9237 DSUB variant (Part Numbers 780264-01 and 780264-02). Instead, you would have to wire the sensors to the NI 9923, and then connect it to the NI 9926/9944/9945 bridge completion accessories.

In the connection diagram for the NI 9237, you should be able to see what wires you need to connect from your sensors to the NI 9923. Information on how to access the connection diagram in NI MAX can be found here.

Additional Information

When measuring from a quarter bridge sensor, the NI 9237 must be used in half bridge completion mode and an external Quarter Bridge Completion Accessory must be used.

The resistor of this completion accessory must match the nominal resistance of the quarter bridge strain gauge.
  • For 1000 Ω bridge completion, use the NI 9926.
  • For 350 Ω bridge completion, use the NI 9945.
  • For 120 Ω bridge completion, use the NI 9944.
