Issue Details

While running Measurement & Automation Explorer (MAX), I get a timeout error with the following message, along with Info Code MAXENETTimeoutError:

MAX timed out while waiting on a driver.

Solution

If you previously had configured a Serial ENET or GPIB-ENET device that is no longer connected to your system, then the server may experience some delays due to the timeout that occurs while trying to connect to the non-existent device(s).

Due to the delay, MAX may report a Database Connection error. In this case, reconnecting the ENET device to the system or removing the reference to the ENET device will resolve this error.

If you no longer have the Serial ENET or GPIB-ENET, you can delete it from NI MAX by right-clicking the ENET listed under Devices and Interfaces and select Delete. You may have to reboot your system for these changes to take effect.

You may need to reset the device if you have used it on a Macintosh and are switching back to a PC.
