What Peripheral Drivers Should I Use with My PXI or VXI Controller?Hardware: PXI/CompactPCI>>Controllers, VXI/VME/MXI>>VXI Controllers
Problem: I want to perform a clean install of an operating system (OS) on a PXI or VXI controller. Where can I find peripheral (graphics, chipset, LAN/network) drivers for the controller? Solution: You only need to download these drivers if you are installing an operating system from scratch. Under normal circumstances, we recommend that you first try the hard drive recovery method (Acronis True Image, Phoenix Firstware, etc.) or try the OEM Recovery CD/DVD recovery method because both of these methods automatically install the necessary drivers for your embedded controller. For more information on these recovery methods, you can reference KnowledgeBase 2ZKC02OK: Hard Drive Recovery and OS Installation for PXI and VXI Controllers or reference your controller's user manual. The drivers listed in the following table work for each respective series of controllers.
As you may notice, the drivers for newer controllers are hosted on the Drivers and Updates section of www.ni.com/support. If your controller is not listed, try searching for your drivers here. Drivers for older controllers not listed in the above table and not listed under the PXI and VXI Drivers FTP Download links at the end of this article can be found at the following page: Support: VXI and PXI Driver Versions (obsolete).
