How Do I Install Examples for Visual Basic, Visual C++, and Delphi with NI-DAQ? Primary Software: Driver Software>>NI-DAQPrimary Software Version: 7.3 Primary Software Fixed Version: N/A Secondary Software: N/A
Problem: I installed NI-DAQ 6.8 (or 6.9, 7.0, 7.1, 7.2, 7.3), but I can't find the examples or other code for Visual C++ in the default "C:\Program Files\National Instruments\NI-DAQ\Examples" directory. Do I need to reinstall NI-DAQ or download the examples? Solution: NI-DAQ 6.8, 6.9 and 7.x have a two step installation process. The first step installs the NI-DAQ driver files and also gives you the option of installing NI-DAQ support files (examples, libraries, etc.) for National Instruments programming environments, like LabVIEW and LabWindows/CVI, as well as programming environments like Visual Basic, Visual C++, and Delphi. The NI-DAQ installer automatically detects National Instruments programming environments, but you will have to manually select programming environments from other vendors. (Currently, there is no language interface for Delphi in Traditional NI-DAQ 7.x and DAQmx.) The Select Support Files screen is where you are given this option. Browse through the list to your programming environment and select it with your mouse. Choose the "Will be installed on local hard drive" option from the pop-up menu to install those files. NI-DAQ 6.9
NI-DAQ 7.x (Traditional DAQ and DAQmx) Note: There are separate examples for Traditional DAQ 7.x and DAQmx 7.x, which must be installed separately.
Click the plus symbol next to the hard drive icon to see which support files are being installed for your programming environment. You may also select the path for where the files will be installed by clicking the Browse button. Click the Next button to go to the Selection Confirmation screen, and then click the Next button to install these files. If you are installing NI-DAQ on your computer for the first time... If you are installing these files as part of the original NI-DAQ installation, then you will be prompted to restart your computer. In the second step of the installation process you have the option to install documentation files from the NI-DAQ CD on your computer, assuming that you have the NI-DAQ CD. If you downloaded the NI-DAQ installation files from our Web site, then this option will not be available to you. If NI-DAQ is already installed on your computer... If you did not install examples during the original NI-DAQ installation, you can modify your installation using Add or Remove Programs. Go to My Computer » Control Panel » Add or Remove Programs » NI-DAQ and select Change to modify this installation. You will be prompted for the NI-DAQ CD during the installation.
