Why Can I Not Get My PCI-6602 to Output More Than 5 MHz?

Primary Software: Driver Software>>NI-DAQ
Primary Software Version: 6.5.1
Primary Software Fixed Version: N/A
Secondary Software: N/A

Problem: I am using the NI-DAQ Test Panels or the VI that ships with NI-DAQ 6.5.1 (or the LabVIEW example), and I can enter in a value larger than 5 MHz for a pulse train generation, but I cannot output faster than 5 MHz. I thought the PCI-6602 had an 80 MHz clock and a maximum 20 MHz output.

Solution: The default timebase for the PCI-6602 is 20 MHz, which gives it compatibility with the DAQ-STC VIs. Since the maximum output frequency is the timebase divided by 4, the 20 MHz timebase will be limited to 5 MHz in the Test Panels, since the Test Panels use the default timebase. To use the higher timebase, you must explicitly enable it programmatically using the Set Attribute.vi (see the LabVIEW 5 example, below).
