LabVIEW Load Error Code 9
Primary Software: LabVIEW Development Systems>>LabVIEW Full Development System
Primary Software Version: 7.1
Primary Software Fixed Version: N/A
Secondary Software: LabVIEW Development Systems
I get LabVIEW load error code 9: Version of VI is newer than LabVIEW version when I try to open a VI. What does this mean?
You may see this error message when you try to open a VI that was written in a version of LabVIEW that is newer than the version of LabVIEW that you are currently using. For example, if you download an example that was written in LabVIEW 6.1 from our Example Programs Database and you try to open the VI in LabVIEW 6.0 (or earlier), then you will see this error message.
You will not be able to view a VI that is from a newer version of LabVIEW in an older version of LabVIEW; however, starting with LabVIEW 5.1, you are able to save your LabVIEW VI one version of LabVIEW back (i.e. from LabVIEW 7.0 to 6.1, 6.1 to 6i, 6i to 5.1, or 5.1 to 5.0). This can be done from within LabVIEW by navigating to File»Save with Options»Save for Previous or File»Save For Previous Version... starting with LabVIEW 8.0.
Note: If you are using any features or objects that were not available in the version you are saving to, LabVIEW will be unable to save those back to that version and it may leave your VI un-executable.
If LabVIEW is unable to open a VI saved in a very old version of LabVIEW, you may receive error 1126. Please visit our Developer Zone Tutorial: How to Upgrade or Revert a VI to a Different Version of LabVIEW for more information on this error.
