Problem: What is the difference between the GPIB-PCII and the GPIB-PCIIA? Solution: These two cards are functionally identical, the only difference is the base I/O addressing scheme. The GPIB-PCII can occupy any address that is a multiple of 8 hex between 0x000 and 0x3F8.The GPIB-PCIIA can be set to 0x02E1, 0x22E1, 0x42E1 or 0x62E1. The NI-488.2 GPIB-PCII/IIA can operate in either the PCII or PCIIA mode. To configure the mode of operation, set DIP switch 9 on the board.
