Problem: What is the expected behavior of the Measurement Studio evaluation packages?
Solution: The Measurement Studio Evaluation package contains the Measurement Studio evaluation software. Any applications you build with the Measurement Studio Evaluation package have a 30 day evaluation period.

The first time you drag and drop a Measurement Studio ActiveX control onto the Designer, you receive a dialog box with the following message: You have 30 days to evaluate the Measurement Studio ActiveX controls. After this period, the controls stop functioning after 5 minutes of execution time. To order Measurement Studio, contact your local branch office or visit the NI Online Store.
You receive the same dialog box each time you drag and drop a Measurement Studio ActiveX control onto the Designer after the 30 day period.

| Run Time Behavior |
If an application that uses the ActiveX controls runs longer than 5 minutes, you receive a dialog box with the following message: Your Measurement Studio evaluation-only controls have stopped functioning. Restart your program to resume operation. To order a development version of Measurement Studio, contact your local National Instruments branch office or visit the NI Online Store.
You receive the same dialog box when you build and run an application that uses the Measurement Studio Evaluation package ActiveX controls after the 30 day period.

After the thirty day evaluation period, if you launch the Licenses dialog box, the license status for all Measurement Studio items is Expired. Select Measurement Studio»Licenses to launch the Licenses dialog box. |
Note If you install new, unlicensed versions of Measurement Studio ActiveX controls on a machine that has previously licensed versions of the Measurement Studio controls, the controls might exhibit one of the following behaviors:
- The licensed controls become evaluation software for 30 days.
- The licensed controls do not let you use functionality that was present in the licensed version.
Use the Measurement Studio ActiveX License Fixer Utility located on your CD in the
ActiveX License Fixer Utility folder to fix these problems.
If you install previously licensed versions of Measurement Studio ActiveX controls on a machine that has new, unlicensed versions of the Measurement Studio controls, the controls might exhibit evaluation software behavior for 30 days. Use the Measurement Studio ActiveX License Fixer Utility located on your CD in the ActiveX License Fixer Utility folder to fix this problem.
