FIRST Robotics Competition Software 2010 LabVIEW Update 2.1 and Driver Station Update 1.1 Fixed Issues and Known Issues

Problem:
What issues were fixed for the mandatory FRC Software 2010 LabVIEW Update 2.1 and Driver Station Update 1.1, and what are the known issues for these updates?

Solution:
This document contains a list of the fixed issues and known issues for the mandatory FRC Software 2010 LabVIEW Update 2.1 and Driver Station Update 1.1.

Installation

You must install the FIRST Robotics Competition 2010 Software before you install the updates. You do not need to install previous updates before you install the latest updates. Refer to the FIRST Robotics Software 2010 Drivers and Updates page to install the mandatory LabVIEW update 2.1. Refer to the FIRST Robotics Software 2010 - Windows - Driver Station page to install the mandatory Driver Station update 1.1.

Fixed Issues

The following table contains a list of the issues fixed in the FRC Software 2010 LabVIEW update 2.1 and Driver Station update 1.1.

IDFixed Issue
The FRC Driver Station returns a system watchdog error often.

The driver station was changed so that it returns the system watchdog error only when needed.
If the CompactRIO boots before the wireless gaming adapter, then the FRC Driver Station cannot detect the robot unless you reboot the CompactRIO.

The driver station was changed so that the CompactRIO can detect the robot regardless of whether the CompactRIO or wireless gaming adapter boots first.
The default value of the Gain output of the Program Files\National Instruments\LabVIEW 8.6\vi.lib\Robotics Library\WPI\Gyro\GyroConstants.vi does not match the 2010 kit gyro.

The default value of the Gain output changed from 1. 0.0125 to 0.007 to match the 2010 kit gyro. This change affects the default value used by the Gyro Open VI. If you need to change the value of Gain, use the Gyro Gain VI.
The nicyapi.dll and ftk_3_simfw.hex files get deleted if you install the FRC Driver Station before you install the FRC Software update.

The installer was changed so that the nicyapi.dll and ftk_3_simfw.hex no longer get deleted, regardless of the install order on the Classmate PC.
The new Dashboard.exe does not install unless you uninstall and then reinstall the FRC Driver Station.

The installer was changed so that the new Dashboard.exe installs correctly, and you do not have to uninstall and reinstall the driver station.
The ADXL345 I2C Accelerometer example and the ADXL345 SPI Accelerometer example do not have a wiring diagram.

The ADXL345 I2C Accelerometer example and the ADXL345 SPI Accelerometer example now include a wiring diagram.
The HolonomicDrive VI does not handle Polar or Cartesian coordinates well.

The HolonomicDrive VI is now a polymorphic VI with two instances, Mecanum Polar and Mecanum Cartesian, to better handle Polar and Cartesian coordinates.
The gyro closes each time the Teleop Stop case structure executes in the Finish VI of the FRC cRIO Robot Project.

The Gyro Close VI was removed from the Teleop Stop case structure so that you can run the Teleop program multiple times.
ERROR <Code> 1026 appears often on the FRC Driver Station.

The error, "ERROR <Code> 1026 occurred at Property Node in DriverStation.lvlib:Stop VI Asynchronous.vi->DriverStation.lvlib:Get Competition Mode.vi->Robot Main.vi" was fixed.


Known Issues

The following table contains a list of known issues in the FRC Software 2010 LabVIEW update 2.1 and Driver Station update 1.1.

IDKnown Issue
FRC Driver Station can take up to 1 minute to power on

Workaround—To avoid this time delay, do not exit or power off the driver station between matches or when you are not completely done using the driver station. Instead, simply leave the driver station open and close the Classmate. The driver station goes into suspend and then hibernate mode when it is not used for a long period of time. The driver station takes only 6 or 7 seconds to open from suspend or hibernate mode.
Imaging the CompactRIO on a computer with two network cards can cause issues

Workaround—If the host computer on which you image the CompactRIO includes two network cards, you may have to disable the network card that is not connected to the CompactRIO. You can enable that network card after imaging is complete.
