Problem:
How Do I Distribute Measurement Studio Applications/OCX Files?

Solution:
The easiest way to distribute an application is by creating an automatic installer from your development environment such as the Microsoft Visual Basic 5 Setup Wizard or the Visual Studio Package & Deployment Wizard. These wizards use dependency files that come with Measurement Studio to determine which files must be packaged in an installer.

If you do not use an automatic installer, then you must distribute these files manually. All of the files contained in the cw/redist folder on the Measurement Studio CD can be distributed. Check the attached Distribution Information text file for instructions and exact information on what files must be distributed.  Also, see the KnowledgeBase article Distributing Measurement Studio ActiveX Applications.

In either case (automatic or manual distribution) if the application uses the DataSocket control, then you must run the DataSocket installer on the target machine to install the correct files. The Help files have exact directions on how to distribute the controls and other dependencies. The document attached at the end of this summary describes what is needed to distribute Measurement Studio.
