Problem: I want to create deployed executables using my NI Vision Development Module libraries. What is the licensing agreement? Solution: Application deployment with the Vision Development Module is based on single-seat licensing. This means that an individual license is purchased and activated for each deployment of your Vision application. The Vision Run-Time Engine is universally used to execute the application, but methods of deployment and available packages differ between versions of NI Vision. Deploying Applications Using Vision 7.1.1 and Earlier The IMAQ Vision Deployment Engine (P/N 778044-01) is a disk containing the Vision Run-Time Engine. To run a deployment application, install the run-time engine on the target computer. A single-seat Vision Deployment License is required for each target machine you install the Run-Time on. One license (serial number) is provided with the Vision Deployment Engine, so you can deploy your application to one target computer. To deploy to more targets, you can purchase more Vision Deployment Licenses (P/N 778044-00). Deploying Applications Using Vision 8.0 and Later Vision 8.0 Development Module provides the Vision 8.0 Run-Time Engine to the developer. This gives the developer the option of attaching the Run-Time Engine installer to their deployment (see link below). When you install NI Vision, the Run-Time is added to the following directory: \National Instruments\Vision\Run-Time EngineWhen the Vision 8.0 (and later) Run-Time Engine is installed on the target computer, it must be fully activated or else it will default to Evaluation mode for 30 days.
