HSDIO Retriggerable Multi-Record Acquisition Hardware: Digital I/O (DIO)>>High-Speed
Problem: How can I configure my HSDIO board to do retriggerable multi-record acquisitions? Solution: When doing multiple record retriggerable acquisitions with an HSDIO (High Speed Digital Input/Output) board, two unique triggers must be configured. These two signals are the start trigger and the advance trigger. The start trigger, which is configured with the niHSDIO Configure Trigger VI, is used to mark the start of the first record of the acquisition. On the other hand, the advance trigger, also configured with niHSDIO Configure Trigger, is used to mark the beginning of each subsequent record of the multi-record acquisition. If the advance trigger is not configured or set to “immediate,” each subsequent record of the acquisition will be returned immediately and the board will not wait for a trigger signal. Thus, both a start trigger and an advance trigger must be configured for the HSDIO board to retrigger for each sample of a multi-record acquisition individually, In general, the trigger condition for these two triggers will be the same. If pattern match triggerring is used to start the aqusition, pattern match triggering can also be used to advance through subsequent records in the acquisition. As a result, both the first sample and all subsequent samples are returned on the same trigger condition for each record acquired. Related Links: Attachments:
