Programmatically Deleting a Startup.exe on a Compact FieldPoint Embedded Controller

Problem:
I need to programmatically delete a startup.exe on a Compact FieldPoint controller. I understand that I can not delete the startup executable without booting into safe mode. Is there any work around without booting into safe mode?

Solution:
The Compact FieldPoint controller will not allow you to delete a file named startup.exe that exists in the startup directory. However, you can rename the executable and then delete it.

If you are using LabVIEW you can use the Librarian Rename.vi and Librarian Delete.vi  to rename and delete the executable.  These VIs are located at:

labview\vi.lib\Utility\libraryn.llb
