[c]FP-CTR-50x External Power Supply Voltage Specification is Incorrect Hardware: FieldPoint>>Discrete I/O Modules>>FP-CTR-500, FieldPoint>>Discrete I/O Modules>>FP-CTR-502
Problem: I recently purchased the [c]FP-CTR-50x and an external power supply of 24 VDC. However, along with this order, I received an addendum saying that the [c]FP-CTR-50x operating instructions incorrectly specify 10-30 VDC external power supply, and it should be 10-20 VDC. Will my 24 VDC power supply damage my module? Solution: The memo appears as follows: FieldPoint Note to Users [c]FP-CTR-50x Specification Change Caution Use only a 10-20 VDC external power supply with the [c]FP-CTR-50x. The operating instructions incorrectly specify a 10-30 VDC external power supply, which most FieldPoint and Compact FieldPoint modules support. However, an external power supply that provides more than 20 VDC can damage the module. The memo received is being sent out with all [c]FP-CTR-50x modules; however, it only applies to the [c]FP-CTR-500. If you are using the [c]FP-CTR-502, then you are ok to use a 24V power supply. The proper voltages ranges for each module are: [c]FP-CTR-500 10 - 20 VDC [c]FP-CTR-502 5 - 30 VDC Related Links: Attachments:
