Why Does My Analog Output Device Continue to Output a Voltage After I Close My Session to the DeviceHardware: Multifunction DAQ (MIO)
Problem: I am running an analog output application which outputs a voltage to one or more channels on my device. After I stop the program, the card is still outputting the voltage. I need to make sure that my card does not continue to output a voltage after I stop my application. How can I do this without having to restart my computer? Solution: This is expected behavior of most of NI's analog output devices (DAQ, M, E, R Series, F-Gen...). The last value written to the card will be retained after the application completes. To disable the output, you can write zero volts to your channel(s) right before you end the program. Resetting the device from software will also bring the outputs back to zero but this could conflict with other tasks being performed by the device.
