Do I Need to Manually Set the Range on my DAQ Device When Using TEDS Sensors? Primary Software: Driver Software>>NI-DAQPrimary Software Version: 8.3 Primary Software Fixed Version: 8.3 Secondary Software: N/A Hardware: Multifunction DAQ (MIO)
Problem: When using a TEDS device with either a real TEDS sensor a virtual TEDS file, do I need to set the range of the DAQ input task to optimize my resolution? Solution: Some TEDS sensors have a large range for which they can make measurements. Some of these ranges are outside the range of your DAQ device. However, you may be certain that a signal outside of the range of your DAQ device will not actually be read. For this reason the DAQmx task does not automatically use the range specified in TEDS for that sensor. You must manually set the range in the task for all TEDS devices. This means that if your range is smaller than what the DAQ device can safely acquire you will still need to set the range to this smaller value. Otherwise your measurement will not be as accurate as you expect. Related Links: Attachments:
