Problem: As of the LabVIEW 8.6 release, the data acquisition and modular instruments drivers no longer support LabVIEW 8.0. LabVIEW SignalExpress 3.0 still contains the support for LabVIEW 8.0 and ships with LabVIEW 8.6. As a result, I notice that LabVIEW SignalExpress installs support for LabVIEW 8.0 so that it can code generate SignalExpress projects into LabVIEW 8.0. However, if the SignalExpress project contains the DAQ Assistant Step or any of the NI Modular Instruments steps, the code generation into LabVIEW 8.0 will fail because the drivers support are missing in LabVIEW 8.0. LabVIEW 7.1, 8.2, 8.5, and 8.6 will all work correctly. How can I workaround this in order to successfully convert my LabVIEW SignalExpress steps to LabVIEW 8.0 VIs? Solution: You can install the support files needed by using an older version of the DriverCD - before August 2008 - since those versions of the drivers still include support for LabVIEW 8.0. You can run these older DriverCDs after the LabVIEW SignalExpress 3.0 installer instead of running the DriverCD that ships with LabVIEW SignalExpress 3.0.
