Multiple Digital Triggers Using Real-Time System Integration (RTSI)

Primary Software: Driver Software>>NI-DAQ
Primary Software Version: 7.3
Primary Software Fixed Version: N/A
Secondary Software: N/A
Hardware: Digital I/O (DIO)>>High-Speed>>AT-DIO-32HS

Problem:
Multi-function I/O (MIO) boards have at most one hardware digital trigger. How can I use National Instruments products to trigger a data acquisition system with more than one digital trigger?

Solution:
You can use a high-speed digital I/O board (such as the DIO-32HS) to accomplish this. Connect the RTSI bus between the DIO-32HS (6533 Family) and the MIO board. Configure the DIO-32HS for change detection mode and route the REQ signal to the RTSI. Configure the MIO board's digital trigger source to use the REQ signal, which is now available on the RTSI (from the DIO-32HS). Finally, wire your digital trigger sources to the input lines on the DIO-32HS board. The example attached below is written in LabVIEW. It configures the first port for change detection mode, which asserts the REQ line when any digital input line transitions between logical states.
