How Can I Disconnect a VI from a Project? Primary Software: LabVIEW Development Systems>>Base PackagePrimary Software Version: 8.5.1 Primary Software Fixed Version: N/A Secondary Software: N/A
Problem: I would like to work on a VI while a project is open, but when I try to create a new VI or open an existing one, LabVIEW automatically links it to the current project. How can I disconnect this VI from the project so that I can work on the VI independently, yet still have another project open? Solution: By default LabVIEW automatically links an opened VI to the project file if a project is already opened. This will be the behavior even when the VI is not added to the project explorer manually. By right-clicking the bottom left portion of the VI in question and selecting Main Application Instance, you can disconnect the VI from the project and is removed from the memory of the project.
