Why does my Shutdown event on a CVS-145x not completely shutdown the CVS? Hardware: Image Acquisition (IMAQ)>>Compact Vision System, Image Acquisition (IMAQ)>>Compact Vision System
Problem: Why does my VI continue to run when a shutdown event occurs on my CVS? Solution: Shutdown mode is a software-enabled feature, that when activated, allows an external device to halt the CVS-145x device processing operations. When Shutdown mode is enabled and the shutdown input signal ISO Input 11 turns off, the CVS-145x registers an external shutdown condition, and its outputs operate according to user-defined shutdown states (high, low, on, 3-state, off, etc). See NI 1450 Series Compact Vision System User Manual for detailed information on this feature. When Shutdown mode is enabled, the CVS-145x processor is also supposed to stop. In NI-IMAQ Server versions lower than 1.6.2, when shutdown mode is enabled, the CVS-145x outputs will operate according to their user-defined shutdown states, but the processor will keep running instead of stopping. Therefore, the user will not lose connection to the CVS-145x because from the host system’s perspective, the CVS-145x is still running. To fix this: 1. Download and install the attached patch (imaqcfg.msi) on the host system. This will upgrade the NI-IMAQ Server to 1.6.2. 2. Open the Measurement & Automation Explorer and go to Remote Systems>>(Your CVS device) and click on the Software tab. Click Add/Remove Software.
3. Click the icon to the left of NI-IMAQ Server 1.6.2 and select Reinstall the feature. Then click Next and go through the update.
