Calibration Executive has several components:
- User Interface: Created with LabWindows/CVI, the user interface allows you to interact with Calibration Executive, and it communicates with TestStand engine.
- Test Executive Engine: The Test Executive engine controls the execution of the calibration procedures. It is considered the "heart" of Calibration Executive. The Test Executive engine executes according to a process model developed especially for calibration routines.
- Calibration Procedure for Cal Exec: The calibration procedures are TestStand sequences that execute all the operations needed to verify and adjust the device. The calibration procedure is usually based on the manual calibration procedure for that device.
- Instrument Drivers and IVI technology: The calibration procedure for Cal Exec also allows Calibration Executive to communicate with and control other instruments (such as calibrators, meters and signal generators) using IVI technology and the GPIB interface. Affer you launch Calibration Executive, it scans for all IVI drivers and GPIB instruments, which are then available to use.
