Can I use Virtual Channels in VirtualBench Logger? Primary Software: Other NI Software>>VirtualBenchPrimary Software Version: 2.6 Primary Software Fixed Version: N/A Secondary Software:
Problem: I am taking data from several thermocouples, and each uses a different source of cold junction compensation. VirtualBench only allows one cold junction compensation channel. I can seperately configure each channel to use a different source for cold junction compensation in Measurement and Automation Explorer (MAX), using virtual channels, but I can't figure out how to log those virtual channels in Virtual Bench Logger. Solution: You cannot log virtual channels in Virtual Bench Logger. Virtual Bench Logger will only allow you to log numbered channels, and you can only use one cold junction compensation channel for your entire task. Those are the limitations of the software. A more versatile but equally simple alternative is to use VI Logger. VI logger is a newer product that allows the user to configure tasks and log data all within MAX, and incorporate logging tasks into LabVIEW.
