Problem: I have installed NI-SCOPE 2.5 or 2.6 and then upgraded NI-DAQmx to version 8.5. When I initialize a Scope session, the following error is returned: "niPAL error -50204 occurred: The specified file could not be opened. The operation could not be completed as specified." Why does this error occur and how can I fix it? Solution: NI-SCOPE 2.5 and 2.6 are incompatible with NI-DAQmx 8.5 and 8.6. Installing a newer version of NI-SCOPE (version 2.7 or later) or NI-DAQmx (version 8.7 or later) should fix this problem. You can download the latest drivers by following the related links below.
