What Do I Do with MAX Database Error with Info Code "MAXTerminatedServiceError"?Primary Software: Utility Software>>Measurement & Automation Explorer
Primary Software Version: 4.6
Primary Software Fixed Version: N/A
Secondary Software: N/A
While running Measurement & Automation Explorer (MAX) I get the MAX Database Error below:
The MAX database exited abnormally. Visit ni.com/info and enter the info code MAXTerminatedServiceError if the problem persists.
What can I do to resolve this?
The NI Configuration Manager service might have crashed. Right-click on the Windows Taskbar and select Task Manager. Click the Processes tab and select NIMAX.exe (or nimxs.exe for older versions of NI MAX). Click End Process and click Yes. On Windows Vista, make sure you check the Show processes from all users option so all processes are visible.
To restart the service, the best course of action is to reboot the computer. If you want to start the service manually, go to Control Panel » Administrative Tools » Services. Scroll down to NI Configuration Manager. Right-click NI Configuration Manager and select Start. Also, restart the NI Device Loader service. For these changes to take effect, close Services and restart MAX. MAX should now operate correctly.
If after restarting the service when you open MAX again you receive the same error, you may try to reset the MAX database. Explanation on how to do this, please see Knowledge Base 3L9AKO6E: How Do I Clean a Corrupted Measurement & Automation Explorer (MAX) Database and Start With a New One?
Note: Remember that cleaning your MAX Database will delete all your MAX Settings (Scales, Virtual Channels, etc).
