Error: LabVIEW Cannot Replace the Current Control With a Composite Control

Problem:
I have a corrupt XY Graph, and when I go to replace it with a new one, I receive the error 'LabVIEW cannot replace the current control with a composite control'.  Why is this happening?

Solution:
This error occurs when you try to replace an object, such as an XY Graph or a Table, with the Express version of that particular object.  So in this case, the error results when you try to replace a standard XY Graph with an Express XY Graph.
