DIAdem 10.0 Installation Error on Windows 2003 Server or Vista

Primary Software: DIAdem
Primary Software Version: 10.0
Primary Software Fixed Version: 10.1
Secondary Software: DIAdem

Problem:
I see the following error when I try to install DIAdem 10.0 on Windows 2003 Sever or Vista:
"(...)Error applying transforms. Verify that the specified transform paths are valid. (...)"

Solution:
The National Instruments installer framework that was built into DIAdem 10.0 does not change a required parameter of the Windows group policy on these operating systems. In order to install DIAdem 10.0, you will need to change the parameter manually:
  1. Click Start » Run, type "gpedit.msc", and then click Enter. You should see the Group Policy Object Editor appear.
  2. In the left pane of the editor, browse to: Local Computer Policy » Computer Configuration » Administrative Templates » Windows Components » Windows Installer.
  3. In the right pane of the editor, you will see a list of settings. Double-click Cache transforms in secure location on workstation.
  4. Choose Disabled and then click OK.
  5. Close the editor, reboot your computer, and then restart the DIAdem 10.0 installer.

Note: It is safe to leave this policy Disabled after the installation.
