Does an Omega RTD-860 work with an SCC-RTD01? Hardware: SCC>>Modules>>SCC-RTD01
Problem: I can't get the RTD-860 to work properly with the SCC-RTD01. Is it compatible at all? Solution: The SCC-RTD01 can source an excitation current of 1mA with an input range of +/- 400mV. The Omega RTD-860 requires an excitation current of 3-5mA. You can supply an external excitation current to the RTD-860 and wire the RTD-860 directly to a DAQ card and see a change in input voltage based on temperature. This however will not be scaled properly and is therefore not supported for an accurate temperature measurement. To get an accurate measurement from the SCC-RTD01 module you need to acquire an RTD that requires 1mA of excitation current.
