Why Do Traces From VxWorks-based Real-Time 8.2.1 Targets Look Strange in Execution Trace Tool 2.0?Primary Software: LabVIEW Modules>>Real-Time ModulePrimary Software Version: N/A Primary Software Fixed Version: N/A Secondary Software: N/A
Problem: I use the Execution Trace Tool to get traces from a VxWorks-based Real-Time targets (such as the 901x series of controllers) and I see negative timestamps and odd looking traces. Solution: There is a minor fix necessary for VxWorks-based targets running Real-Time 8.2.1. The fix is an update to the library of Execution Trace Tool 2.0 VI's. Download the library here, and replace it into this directory: Program Files\National Instruments\LabVIEW X/x\vi.lib\addons\tracetool Where X.x would be changed to match the desired LabVIEW version, such as 8.2, 8.2.1 or 8.5. If you wish, you can first rename the previous .llb to another name for safekeeping, such as tracetool.old. When running these VI's for the first time, click OK if prompted to save them.
