Primary Software Fixed Version: N/A
Secondary Software: N/A
Problem: How do I revert back to my previous IVI products and settings after installing the IVI Compliance Package 2.x?
Solution: Installing the IVI Compliance Package upgrades all of the IVI components on your system. National Instruments strongly recommends that you do not revert back to your existing IVI Software after installing the IVI Compliance Package. However, if you do choose to revert back to your original software, there are a few steps that you need to follow to completely remove the IVI Compliance Package.
- Complete the following steps to uninstall the IVI Compliance Package:
- Click Start»Settings»Control Panel.
- Double-click Add/Remove Programs.
- Select National Instruments Software.
- Click Change.
- Select IVI Compliance Package and click Uninstall.
- If you have installed IVI Engine 1.83 as part of installing LabVIEW 6.1 and/or LabWindows/CVI 6.0, run the installer for these products in maintenance mode and deselect the IVI Engine 1.83 feature.
- Uninstall all of the following products before you install IVI Engine 1.83:
- NI-DMM (versions 2.0, 2.01, 2.1)
- NI-SWITCH
- NI-FGEN
- NI-SCOPE
- When you have removed the IVI Engine part, you can re-install all the National Instruments products you uninstalled, including previous versions of IVI products.
- The driver information in the ivi.ini file is removed as part of the IVI Compliance Package installation. However this information is preserved in a backup file located in the same directory as the original ivi.ini file. In order to revert to the previous configuration information for your IVI drivers, you need to delete the original ivi.ini file and rename the first backup file (if you have more than one) to "ivi.ini." The name of the backup file contains the date and time at which the conversion occurred.
