Networking Your VXI/VME/PXI Embedded Controller

Hardware: VXI/VME/MXI>>VXI Controllers

Problem:
I have a VXI/VME/PXI embedded controller. How do I my configure my controller for networking in Windows 2000 or Linux?

Solution:

Windows 2000
  1. Log onto the system as an Administrator
  2. Right click on "My Network Places" and select "Properties"
  3. Inside of Properties, select "Make New Connection". Once the new connection is configured, you will be able to change your TCP/IP settings.

Linux (VXIpc-870 only)
  1. Log onto the system with root level privileges
  2. Run the Linux network configuration program, netconf
  3. Select the "Basic Host information" section
  4. Set the "kernel module" option under Adapter 1 configuration settings to "yellowfin". This may not be listed as an option, in which case you can type it in.

Refer to the Linux documentation for additional information.
