Reading the UMI-7764/7774’s Inhibit All Line Status

Problem:
Can I read the UMI-7764 or UMI-7774’s Inhibit All input line status with NI-Motion?

Solution:
The Inhibit All functionality and circuitry is handled solely on the UMI-7764/7774. The 733x, 734x, and 735x motion controllers never actually read the Inhibit All line because there is no pin on their Motion I/O connectors that reads the Inhibit All line from the UMI.

To monitor the Inhibit All signal, you can wire it to one of the motion controller’s DIO lines and read the DIO line status in software.
