Where Can I Find The GPIB.INI File Created By The GPIB Configuration Utility?

Primary Software: Driver Software>>NI-488.2
Primary Software Version: 2.5
Primary Software Fixed Version: N/A
Secondary Software: N/A

Problem: I have used the GPIB configuration utility to modify my GPIB device templates and my device setup. I understand this information should be stored in the GPIB.ini file, however I can not find the location of this file and I need to replicate this system over multiple target computers.

Solution: The GPIB.ini file contains your GPIB interface setup information (i.e EOS character and bus timing information for example.) To replicate your system over multiple targets, you will need to copy this file file on to all your target machines. The GPIB.ini file can be located in one of two directories on 32 or 64-bit Windows operating systems depending on the version of NI-488.2 you have installed.

If you have a version of NI-488.2 prior to version 2.52, then the GPIB.ini file is located at "C:\Windows\System32\gpib.ini" (without the quotes.)

If you have NI-488.2 version 2.52 or later the GPIB.ini file is located at "C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\National Instruments\NI-488.2\gpib.ini" (without the quotes.)
