Linking an IAK File to a FieldPoint or Compact FieldPoint with a Different IP Address

Problem:
I have configured a FieldPoint (FP) or Compact FieldPoint (cFP) system with plans to copy the IAK file to an identical system.  When I import the IAK file in Measurement & Automation Explorer (MAX) on the new computer, MAX displays both the current [c]FP controller and an offline version of the old [c]FP system under Remote Systems.  The offline [c]FP controller is configured and linked to the IAK file.

How do I link the IAK file to the new FP system so that it has the same configuration as the old one?

Solution:
Follow these steps below to link the IAK file to the correct FieldPoint or Compact FieldPoint system:
  1. Delete the online [c]FP system by right-clicking the Remote System and selecting Delete.
  2. Right-click the offline [c]FP system and select Change IP (Offline).

  3. Change the IP address to the address of the new [c]FP controller.
The configuration will be applied to the current [c]FP system.
