Problem: How to reduce the electromagnetic noise from cFP and cRIO controllers? Solution: All new versions of the cFP and cRIO controllers include a ferrite that, when properly installed, dramatically reduces electromagnetic emissions from the controller. NI strongly recommends installing ferrites on the power inputs of your existing controllers. You can order ferrites by contacting your sales person or calling (888) 280-7645. The part number for the ferrite included with the new controllers is below: Part number: 711849-01 Attached below are instructions on how to install the ferrite on the power cables of the controller. Although these instructions specifically mention they are for cFP-2xxx controllers, they can also be applied to both cFP and cRIO controllers. Additionally, the newest revision of the Compact FieldPoint backplane includes modifications that reduce electromagnetic emissions. Note: This recommendation does not apply if you are using a PS-3 power supply, because the PS-3 is shipped with a ferrite installed. Related Links: Attachments:
