Migrating VBAI 2.6.1 Script to LabVIEW Generates VI that Will Not Execute Properly

Primary Software: Vision Builder for Automated Inspection
Primary Software Version: 2.6.1
Primary Software Fixed Version: N/A
Secondary Software: LabVIEW Development Systems

Problem:
I have Vision Builder for Automated Inspection (VBAI) version 2.6.1 and I have LabVIEW 7.0 and Vision 7.1. I have created a VBAI inspection and now I would like to generate LabVIEW code from my inspection. The code migration completes without any errors or warnings, but when I open up the LabVIEW generated VI, it will not run my VBAI inspection properly. What can I do to make sure that I can properly migrate and run my VBAI inspection as a LabVIEW VI?

Solution:
There are a few things you can check to make sure that you properly migrate your VBAI script to a LabVIEW VI.
  • VBAI can run in evaluation mode for 30 days. The software is fully functional in evaluation mode, except for the Migrate Inspection to LabVIEW tool. So if you have not activated the software yet, then the LabVIEW code generation will not work properly, so make sure VBAI is activated in the NI License Manager.

  • You must have LabVIEW 7.0 or later and IMAQ Vision 7.1 or later installed on your computer to migrate an inspection to LabVIEW.

  • You must have launched LabVIEW at least once on your computer before migrating an inspection properly.

  • Check to make sure that you have the most recent versions of the IMAQ (both NI-IMAQ and NI-IMAQ for IEEE 1394) drivers.
