Why does the Auto-Detect Fail to Recognize my SCXI-1163R?

Hardware: SCXI>>Modules>>SCXI-1163R

Problem:
I am controlling a SCXI chassis with an M-Series DAQ device. Currently I have the chassis properly configured in MAX with the appropriate communicating device selected and it auto-detects and recognizes all modules except my SCXI 1163R. I have ensured that all the jumpers are in their default configurations, yet the device is still not detected.

Solution:
The SCXI-1163R’s default jumper settings configure the module to be controlled with a Digital IO device. The M Series device that is being used to control the SCXI module is an MIO device, so you need to change three of the jumpers. Change your jumper configuration to the following:
  • W2 should be set to M
  • W3 should be set to M
  • W4 should be set to A (Default)
  • W5 should be set to MIO
  • W6 should be set to S (Default)
Please consult the NI SCXI-1163R Jumpers Note to Users manual linked below for more information about jumper settings.
