Why Does NI Update Service Incorrectly Show Product Not Updatable After Vista UAC Prompt?

Problem:
I am running NI Update Service on a Vista computer with User Access Control (UAC) enabled.  Why does NI Update Service show me there is an update available, but after the UAC prompt it then shows me there is no update available because I do not have Standard Service Program (SSP)? 

Solution:
This is a known issue with NI Update Service.  To work around this issue, close NI Update Service and restart it by right-clicking Update Service in the Start menu and selecting Run as administrator.
