Why Do I Receive Error -63193 When Attempting to Detect an Existing FPGA Target?Primary Software: LabVIEW Modules>>FPGA ModulePrimary Software Version: 8.0 Primary Software Fixed Version: N/A Secondary Software: N/A
Problem: I have created a LabVIEW project and want to add an FPGA target. When I select Existing target or device, I get a message saying Error -63193 occurred at an unidentified location. Why does this error occur? Solution: The NI-RIO driver populates the PXI-6652 and PXI-6653 as RIO devices because they can be used as FPGA targets in LabVIEW 7.1. However, the RIO LabVIEW project provider blocks access to these devices from LabVIEW 8.0 and later. This error occurs because LabVIEW is attempting to populate all the RIO devices, but is blocking these particular cards. There are two options to eliminate this error. You can remove any PXI-6652 or PXI-6653 devices from your system before attempting to populate existing devices in your project. You can also manually add the FPGA target by selecting New target or device and adding the correct FPGA type and RIO Resource name for your target.
