Application Builder is Missing When Upgrading from LabVIEW 8.2 to 8.5 Primary Software: LabVIEW Toolkits>>Application BuilderPrimary Software Version: 8.2.1 Primary Software Fixed Version: N/A Secondary Software: LabVIEW Development Systems>>Full Development System
Problem: After upgrading from LabVIEW 8.2 to 8.5 Full Development System, the application builder cannot be activated. It does not show up in NI License Manager and when you go to Help»Activate App Builder, an error text is generated saying, The feature/family you requested was not found in a license file. What can I do to fix this problem and get application builder activated for LabVIEW 8.5 Full Development System? Solution: The license file for Application Builder might be missing. You should have a file called LabVIEW_AppBuilder_PKG_080200.lic. In order to check this, open up a Windows browser and go to Program Files»National Instruments»Shared»License Manager»Licenses. If you do not have this file, include it in the directory above, and then restart your computer. You should be able to go to your NI License Manager and see Applications Builder under LabVIEW 8.5 Toolkits. You can then activate it using the serial number and the activation code. While the Application Builder only comes with the LabVIEW Professional Development package, you can purchase the Application Builder separately for the Full or Base packages.
