Using an External Clock with the SC-2040

Hardware: Signal Conditioning Other>>SC Analog Accessories

Problem: How do I use an external clock with the SC-2040?

Solution: You can route the external clock to PFI2 to act as the STARTSCAN signal. Note that the internal STARTSCAN signal comes from PFI7. If you want to use an external clock, you cannot use PFI7 as it is reserved. You can even damage the hardware by connecting to PFI7, as it is configured for output. If you use the external clock at PFI2, it will control the scans, and the internal clock will not be used.

The attached VI is an example of how to set up the software configuration to have an external clock. It uses one of the analog input examples in that ships with LabVIEW. This VI was used in earlier versions of LabVIEW and NI-DAQ.
