Can I Calibrate SCXI Modules Using PXI/SCXI Combo Chassis?

Primary Software: Calibration Executive
Primary Software Version: 3.0
Primary Software Fixed Version: N/A
Secondary Software: N/A
Hardware: PXI/CompactPCI>>Chassis>>PXI-1011, PXI/CompactPCI>>Chassis>>PXI-1010, SCXI

Problem:
Is it possible to calibrate SCXI modules using the PXI/SCXI combo chassis, such as the PXI-1010 and the PXI-1011?

Solution:
It is possible, with the following restriction: most SCXI modules require a DMM connected on the rear connector of the module for the adjustment procedure. This is achieved by connecting a 50-pin cable to the cable adapter. Combo chassis that do not have access to the back of the SCXI chassis cannot be used for calibration.
  • PXI-1010: This chassis provides access to the back of the chassis. However, to adjust SCXI module you can not use the internal bus to control the module. You need to connect the chassis to the DAQ board as if it were a external chassis, using a cable and a cable adapter on the back of the SCXI chassis.

  • PXI-1011: This chassis does not provide access to the back of the SCXI chassis. You can not use this chassis to calibrate SCXI modules.
Refer to the manual calibration procedures or the Calibration Executive manual for each module to determine if the procedure requires access to the back of the SCXI chassis.
