Switches Do Not Install Correctly When NI-DAQmx is Installed to C:\Program Files\NI Primary Software: Driver Software>>NI-DAQmxPrimary Software Version: 8.5 Primary Software Fixed Version: N/A Secondary Software: N/A
Problem: I installed NI-DAQmx and cannot properly install my NI Switch devices. The device appear in Windows Device Manager and are listed as operating correctly but the devices do not show up in Measurement and Automation Explorer and cannot be accessed from any Application Development Environment or other applications. I installed NI-DAQmx to C:\Program Files\NI instead of to the default directory of C:\Program Files\National Instruments. Solution: NI-DAQmx should not be installed to the folder C:\Program Files\NI. Installing the driver to this location can cause unexpected behavior. Uninstalling NI-DAQmx and reinstalling NI-DAQmx to its default location should fix the problem.
