DAQPad-1200 (Parallel Port) Installation under Windows XP

Hardware: Legacy DAQ Devices>>Multifunction DAQ>>DAQPad-1200

Problem:
How do I install a DAQPad-1200 under Windows XP?

Solution:

1. Enable interupts on the parallel port.  Go to Start » Settings » Control Panel » System. Click the Hardware tab and then click on Device Manager.  Once you are in the Device Manager, expand the Ports (COM & LPT). Right-click on your parallel port (Ex. LPT1) and select Properties.  Click the Port Settings tab and under filter resource method select "use any interupt assigned to the port".
2. Attach the DAQPad to your computer's parallel port and power on the DAQPad.
3. Go to Start » Settings » Control Panel » Add Hardware. You will see a screen saying Welcome to the Add Hardware Wizard. Click on the Next button.
4. The Wizard will display "This wizard is searching for hardware that has been connected to your computer recently but has not been installed." It will then display a window asking, "have you all ready connected this hardware to your computer." Select Yes, I have all ready added the hardware, and click on the Next button.
5. It will then display a list of your hardware devices with the last option in the list being, Add a new hardware device. Select Add a new hardware device and then click on the Next button.

   

6. The next window asks "What do you want the wizard to do?" Select Install the hardware that I manually add from a list and then click the Next button.
7. You will see a window like the one below, select Data Acquisition Devices and then click the Next button.

   

8. From the next list that appears (shown below), select the DAQPad-1200 from the list and click the Next button. It will ask you is you are ready to install the driver. Click the Next button again.

   

9. The next window will state "Windows has finished installing the software for this device." Click the Finish button.
