The Measurement Studio ActiveX Control Gives Error With Microsoft Visual C++ UI on Windows 2000

Problem:
If I install only the Measurement Studio UI ActiveX controls with Microsoft Visual C++ 6 on Windows 2000, I receive errors when using the ActiveX controls. How can I fix this?

Solution:
The issue is that the MSVCP60.dll is not automatically installed with the Visual C++ UI feature. However, MSVCP60.dll is installed with other Visual C++ features, such as DataSocket and 3DGraph. The MSVCP60.dll is preloaded on Windows XP, so this problem only occurs in earlier operating systems. To get this .dll, use one of these two methods:
  1. (Recommended) Rerun the installer in Modify mode and select DataSocket or the 3DGraph features. This is accomplished by selecting Start»Control Panel, then selecting Add or Remove Programs. Once the list populates, select National Instruments Software and click Change. Once the National Instruments Software dialog box opens, select the Measurement Studio installer and click Modify.
  2. If you do not want to rerun the installer, you can add the attached MSVCP60.DLL to the System32 directory, located at WINDOWS\SYSTEM32.
