DNSSD.dll is not Found When I Try to Create a NI Switch Executive Virtual DevicePrimary Software: Switch ExecutivePrimary Software Version: 1.0 Primary Software Fixed Version: N/A Secondary Software: N/A
Problem: I have recently downloaded and installed pi40iv.msi from Pickering© so that I could create a virtual device in NI Switch Executive. Whenever I try to add my switch to the virtual device I am creating, an error saying "This application has failed to start because dnssd.dll was not found. Re-installing the application max fix this problem." I cannot add my switch at all, what can I do? Solution: After you install pi40iv.msi, the above error will always occur when you try to access your Pickering© devices with NI Switch Executive. The following pair of errors will occur when you try to add your switch to your virtual device.
Click OK on the first error and the next will appear.
Click OK to remove the second error. However, you will not be able to import the switch into your virtual device until the error is resolved. To resolve this issue, it is necessary to install a copy of dnssd.dll to your computer. See the Related Links section for a download location. Please note that pi40iv.msi and dnssd.dll are maintained by 3rd parties and are not supported or maintained by National Instruments. Related Links: External Link: DLL-files.com Attachments:
