Why Do I Get Error -70183 When Starting a Move With NI SoftMotion Controller for CANopen? Hardware: Motion Control>>Controllers>>NI SoftMotion Controller for CANopen
Problem: I can initialize the NI SoftMotion Controller. I can see the position update in 1D Interactive in Measurement and Automation Explorer (MAX). But, when I try to start a move, I get Error -70183 (NIMC - dataTransmissionError). What could be causing this? Solution: The drive is not configured to run in CANopen mode. This is a setting in the CME basic setup. To change to CAN mode in CME 2, select Amplifier»Basic Setup. Then change Position Loop Input to CAN.
